OPGD Hosts Second Training on Revised Common Grant Application Formats

The Mayor’s Office of Partnerships and Grants Development (OPGD), in partnership with Washington Grantmakers, will host a second training session for local nonprofits and community-based organizations to learn how to use the newly revised Common Grant Application Formats (CGAF).

Washington Grantmakers, a membership organization serving grantmakers in the region, recently unveiled the revised Common Grant Application and Report Formats and the new Letter of Inquiry Format, which are intended to increase ease, efficiency, and the quality of proposals grantseekers submit. The goal of the CGAF is to serve the regions’ grantmaking and grantseeking communities by streamlining the private foundation grant application process. It makes grantseeking easier as one standard proposal can be created and then customized for multiple funders. Members of Washington Grantmakers developed the format, with input from grantmakers, grantseekers, and evaluation experts.

The CGAF training session will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2004, 10 am-noon, at Martin Luther King Library, 9th and G Streets, NW, Room A-5. This session is free, but registration is required. For further information on the training session or to register, contact OPGD at (202) 727-8900 by August 6. To access the CGAF, go to http://www.washingtongrantmakers.org, Grantseeker Resource section.
