The Mayor's Office of Partnerships and Grants Development (OPGD), in conjunction with the Washington Council of Agencies (WCA), announces its Sixth Annual Pubic-Private Partnership Conference. This year's theme is "Embracing, Strengthening, and Sustaining Partnerships: The Reality of It All."

The conference will be held on Monday, December 13, 2004, 8 am to 4 pm, at the new Washington Convention Center.

Workshops will include:

  • Fear Factor: Preparing the New WRAG Common Grant Application
  • Go Directly to Jail: Don’t Play Games with Grant Money
  • He Said, She Said: Establishing Partnership Roles Through a Memorandum of Understanding and Other Documents
  • Top 10 Tips for Running Successful Nonprofit Organizations
  • The Weakest Link: What You Always Wanted to Know About Indirect Cost Rates But Were Afraid to Ask; and more.
There will be opportunities to network with representatives from local DC, Maryland, and Virginia governments, as well as the federal government, local foundations, and nonprofit and faith-based organizations. In addition, an extensive exhibit hall will have information on the latest technology and capacity-building opportunities for conferees. Interested exhibitors should contact Jeff Kost, WCA, at (202) 457-0540.

The cost for the conference is only $55, which includes a continental breakfast and lunch. To register by check with WCA, call (202) 457-0540 or register online at: www.regonline.com/18083.
