Mayor's Office Provides Internet Training to Area Nonprofits
March 14, 2005
The Mayor's Office of Partnerships and Grants Development (OPGD) will host an information session regarding web research and the Internet's best development resources for nonprofits. Participants will learn how to quickly and efficiently surf the Internet to find the information they need for their organizations.
Kathy Jankowski, publisher of GrantsDirect, will explore ways to use the Internet to connect to online communities and expertise, set up a fundraising operation, research funding opportunities, conduct prospect research, and quickly locate the most valuable and trusted online resources supporting all aspects of fundraising and development.
This program is geared toward small groups and organizations seeking information on how to make the most of their online time. Participants are encouraged to investigate these online resources in OPGD's Grants Information Resource Center (GIRC). The GIRC is a staffed computer center with access to funding research databases and the Internet, as well as a small library of printed materials.
The session is the fourth in a series of free research trainings offered jointly by OPGD and GrantsDirect. It will be held on Friday, April 15, 2005, 1 pm to 3:30 pm, at One Judiciary Square, 441 4th Street, NW, Room 1107 South, Washington, DC.
This event is free, but space is limited. To register by April 11, contact OPGD at (202) 727-8900 or faith.jones@dc.gov. |
