Mayor’s Office of Partnerships and Grants Development Offers New Online Grants Database
June 17, 2005
The Mayor’s Office of Partnerships and Grants Development (OPGD), in association with the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO), announces its new Grants Information Data System (GIDS). This online grants database is designed for use by local nonprofit and community-based organizations, as well as DC government agencies, and is available on the OPGD website.
The system provides information on current competitive federal, city, and foundation grant opportunities for which local organizations are eligible. Grants are searchable by grantor type/name, issue area, or key words in the title. In addition, all grants may be searched by a Grant ID number, a unique identifier assigned by the system. These numbers will be included in grant listings in OPGD’s Funding Alert newsletter for easier access to grant details.
Another aspect of this system is the online State Single Point of Contact application process. Federal grant applicants will be able to comply with Executive Order 12372 - Intergovernmental Review, which governs the District's State Single Point of Contact process. Applicants will be able to submit their information from the SF-424 form (application for federal assistance) and immediately receive a State Application Identifier (SAI) number via email. This number is proof of compliance with Executive Order 12372. |
