OPGD Offers Free Training to Nonprofits and Faith-Based Organizations

The Mayor's Office of Partnerships and Grants Development (OPGD) announces two upcoming training sessions for representatives of nonprofit and faith-based organizations.
How to Complete the IRS 1023 for Nonprofit Status. This session will review the process of applying for nonprofit status with the IRS, including a line-by-line explanation of the IRS 1023 application. Telaekah Brooks, the executive director of Southeastern University's Center for Entrepreneurship, will lead the session.

Computing Indirect Cost Rates and Managing Federal Grants. This comprehensive workshop is for nonprofit and faith-based representatives and local government grant managers who want to learn more about federal grant issues. Items to be reviewed:
- Developing and negotiating indirect cost rates, as covered by OMB Circular A-122
- Uniform administrative requirements for federal grants and agreements under 2 CFR Part 215 (formerly OMB Circular A-110).
